What is Informatics Engineering?

Informatics engineering is a scientific discipline that is based on computer science, which is basically a collection of scientific and technical disciplines that specifically deal with the problem of transformation or processing of symbolic facts (data) by optimally utilizing computer technology. Transformation is in the form of logical and systematic processes to get solutions in solving various problems, so by choosing an Informatics Engineering study program, we become trained to think logically and systematically to be able to easily adjust to any work.

Along with the rapid development of computer technology, the education program in the Informatics Engineering study program is directed at mastering informatics engineering skills and knowledge based on the ability to understand, analyze, assess, apply, and create software in processing with computers. In addition, graduates are expected to have the ability to plan a network and computer system, as well as master the basics of science and information technology as the basis for the development of further studies.

Considering the above, the Informatics Engineering study program aims to fulfill the needs of HR professionals in the field of information technology. In addition, to bridge the interests of industry and the professional community with academic interests, a competency-based curriculum is developed, wherein besides the core contents, local content is also provided which supports the applied knowledge base and software engineering. It is hoped that through this program graduates can have competitiveness, entrepreneurial spirit, and have adequate information technology insight so that they do not stutter when it comes time to apply their knowledge in society.

Currently Informatics Engineering alumni have spread throughout Indonesia in various professions, such as lecturers, teachers, IT staff, entrepreneurs, and even some who work in Singapore. Their place of work is also diverse, such as banking, paper industry, wood processing, and other industries.
